Digital Audio
Lyric Window
You can set Jet-Audio to display the lyric when there is a TXT or RTF file which has the same name as the music file such as MP3, RA or WAV file. Jet-Audio will display the lyric in its Lyric window during the play. In other words, if there is a C:\MP3\A.MP3 file and a C:\MP3\A.TXT File, Jet-Audio will read the A.TXT file and display it in the Lyric window.
File Association
If you associate the file extension with Jet-Audio, Jet-Audio will be executed when you double click a file in Windows Explorer.
Options for MPEG Audio Playback
You can set the channel, the sound quality of MPEG Audio Player engine and its engine to be used here. If Internet Explorer 4.0 or NetShow 2.0 or later is installed, MPEG Audio can be played without using Jet Audio's internal engine. However, the Equalizer and Spectrum will not be activated in this case.
There is a 64-bit floating point engine for high quality sound and a 32-bit fixed point engine for high speed, in addition to the existing 32-bit floating point engine. Especially the 32-bit fixed point engine runs 35% faster than the 32-bit floating point engine.
If your computer is slow, [Mono] in channel and [Low] in sound quality are recommended to lower the CPU load. For your information, about 35% of CPU speed is needed to play the MP3 file with the best sound in a Pentium 200 MMX, 5% for Reverb Effect and 5% for 3D Effect.
Options for WAV File Playback
You can enjoy sound effects if you set DirectShow to be executed when the WAV file is played.
Advanced Options
MPEG Audio Output Options
You can convert the MP3 file to the WAV file. You can convert the MP3 file either while you are playing it or convert it directly to the WAV file without playing it. If the .WAV is selected, it will be saved as the same file name in the directory you play, only with the file extension changed to .WAV.
Wave Output Buffer Count
WAVE output buffer is a buffer for sound data from computer to sound card, one buffer holds about 0.2 second of sound data. If you set the buffer number too big, sound or equalizer effects can be delayed, and if you set it too small, the sound may flicker.
Decoder Priority
If you set the decoding engine priority too high in MPEG Audio play, you may experience other programs running with Jet Audio to run slower. If you set it too low, the sound may flicker.
Output Scale
The output scale sets the volume of the MPEG audio sound. If you set it too high, you may experience that the sound is squeezed. If you use automatic setting, the Jet Audio Internal Engine will adjust it automatically, but you may experience a sudden bluster when you turn the sound effect on or off.
